RELIANCE ELECTRIC 0-57C406-E Drive Controller
The 57C407 is a solid-state control device that is in charge of sending instructions to the other modules on an AutoMax system which is fully compatible with a Reliance DCS Industrial Controller. It is typically placed on a card rack assembly. The other modules on the rack serve other functions like communications, managing digital input and output, analog input and output, and maintaining drive control. There can be more than one processor on the rack if the rack has enough slots to facilitate it with a maximum of four processors on the rack. All of the processors on the rack do need to be of the same series. An AutoMax processor cannot be on the same rack as a DCS 5000. The cards on this rack typically communicate using the DCS-Net network. They can also communicate using remote I/O.
The faceplate on the 57C407 has two fault code 7-segment LED indicators. They are labeled 1st and 2nd. In between them is a small green LED that is labeled OK. There are two RS-232 ports that are labeled programmer and local comm. This processor has the ability to be mounted to a card rack assembly. It should be slid into an open slot on the rack and then into two card slot connections on the backplane of the rack. From there the card can be screwed into place using the mounting brackets on the card and the rack. The processor will receive power directly from the rack which will have a power supply equipped. This processor must be placed only in slots 0-4 on the card rack assembly.
