The Prosoft 5201-MNET-MCM is a communication module that acts as a gateway between Modbus TCP/IP networks and Modbus RTU or ASCII serial devices.
- Connects Modbus TCP/IP and Serial Modbus Networks: It bridges the gap between devices on a Modbus TCP/IP network (Ethernet) and devices communicating via serial Modbus RTU or ASCII protocols.
- Protocol Conversion: The module translates data between Modbus TCP/IP and serial Modbus protocols, enabling devices on these different networks to exchange information.
- Dual Functionality: It can operate in two modes:
- Modbus TCP/IP Master: It initiates communication with Modbus slave devices connected serially (RTU or ASCII), polling them for data.
- Modbus Slave: It can act as a slave device on a Modbus TCP/IP network, responding to requests from Modbus TCP/IP masters.
