PXIE-8510 is a hardware optional Controller Area Network (CAN) and/or Local Interconnect Network (LIN) interface used for developing applications using NI-XNET drivers. This model provides two or six XNET ports, which can be used as CAN or LIN ports, depending on the accessories connected. PXIE-8510 can be used for applications that require real-time and high-speed processing of hundreds of CAN frames and signals, such as hardware in the loop (HIL) simulation, rapid control prototype verification, bus monitoring, automation control, etc. In addition, the NI-XNET device driven direct memory access (DMA) engine can help PXIE-8510’s onboard processor move CAN frames and signals between interfaces and user programs without CPU interrupts, This minimizes message latency and frees up host processor time to handle complex models and applications.
