The MTL5544 is a two-channel, 4/20mA, HART® repeater power supply for 2- or 3-wire transmitters. It is designed to provide fully-floating dc supplies for energising two conventional 2-wire or 3-wire transmitters in a hazardous area. The MTL5544 can also be used to drive two safe-area loads from a single 2-wire transmitter (i.e. 1 in, 2 out) by interconnecting the input channels as shown in the diagram below.
The MTL5544 is a versatile repeater power supply that can be used in a wide variety of applications. It is ideal for use in hazardous areas where it is necessary to provide power and communication for 2- or 3-wire transmitters. The MTL5544 is also suitable for use in safe areas where it is necessary to drive two loads from a single 2-wire transmitter.
