The ABB IMMPI01 is a Multi-Function Processor Interface Module that supports either SCSI or RS-232-C computer interface. When communicating through the RS-232-C port, the module can act as data communication equipment (DCE) or data terminal equipment (DTE).
It is used in a variety of applications, including:
- Process control
- Supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA)
- Human-machine interface (HMI)
- Programmable logic controller (PLC)
The IMMPI01 has the following features:
- Supports either SCSI or RS-232-C computer interface
- Can act as DCE or DTE when communicating through the RS-232-C port
- Supports up to 115.2 kbps data rate
- Provides two independent channels
- Provides isolated power supply
- Supports a variety of protocols, including Modbus, BACnet, and DNP3
