It allows ControlNet devices to be connected to a fiber optic network, extending the reach of the ControlNet network. The 1786-RPFRXL/B can be used to connect ControlNet devices to a fiber optic backbone network, or to create a standalone fiber optic ControlNet network.

Usage method
The 1786-RPFRXL/B is installed in a ControlNet chassis, such as the 1785-ENBT Ethernet bridge module. Once installed, the 1786-RPFRXL/B is configured using the ControlNet Configuration Utility.
